ASADLtV3 (lite version 3) is a windows based Storm Sewer Analysis and Design program. ASADLtV3 is the third generation of the widely-used ASAD-Lt. This version is highlighted by a new diagramming window that makes ASADLtV3 user-friendly and intuitive; no long learning curve here. With the click of a mouse you can drag-and-drop nodes (inlets, manhole, ditch inlets, and others) and connect them with reaches (pipes). Simply clicking on any node or reach makes it's data available for editing. Pipe sizes and invert elevations can computed automatically or entered manually. You can even enter some data manually while letting ASADLtV3 compute the remaining data for you. Computing storm sewer hydraulics and printing the storm tabulation (Storm Tabs) sheets has never been so easy. These computations and reports are in strict compliance with the methodolgies and formats set forth by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and are accepted by FDOT as well as Counties, Cities, and Water Management Districts across the state of Florida.

Easy Network Layout

To make ASADLtV3 more user friendly, we have incorporated a new diagramming front end. Simply click on inlets, manholes, endwalls, etc. from the on-screen toolbar and drag them onto the diagram window. Next click on a pipe, also on the toolbar, and connect the inlets, manholes, endwalls, etc. Compute hydraulics and display up to 44 different data items next to their inlets or pipes. Items such as pipe sizes, inlet types, inlet elevations, flows (Q), HGL to inlet elevation clearances, areas, velocities, etc. ASADLtV3 has NO LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF NODES OR REACHES in a network.
Manages Multiple Networks

Because most roadway and site projects have more than one storm sewer network, we have designed ASADLtV3 to manage an UNLIMITED NUMBER OF NETWORKS in a project database. Thats right, an unlimited number of networks containing an unlimited number of nodes and reaches. That's big enough for even the largest projects. Don't get stuck with software that can handle only 10 or 25 pipes.
Computes Flows, Losses, and Hydraulic Grade Line

ASADLtV3 uses the rational method for computing flows. Losses are computed using Manning's equation for the major frictional losses (friction with the walls of the pipes). Optionally, minor losses (entrance, exit, and junction) may be computed as well. The hydraulic grade line is computed through the entire network by applying the backwater curve of losses to the tailwater elevation. ASADLtV3 analyzes partial (free surface) and/or pressure flow conditions automatically and reports the type of flow in the 'Storm Tabs' report.

Meets Department of Transportation Design Standards

ASADLtV3 uses the ASAD Hydraulics Calculation Engine (HCE). This engine has been approved by the Florida Department of Transportaion (FDOT) and has been in use since 1996. ASADLtV3 also produces 'Storm Tabs' in the format set forth by FDOT. Take a look at the screen image of a Storm Tabs sheet.

Project
  • All data for the entire project is contained in one database file that is usually less than 1mb in size. This simplifies making backups or sending and recieving project data.
  • Most FDOT structures (manholes, inlets, endwalls, ditch inlets) and many pipes are already defined in the seed (startup) database. User may define new structures and pipes. There is no limit to the number of structures or pipes.
